Skagerrak Demographic Series

Aim

This seminar is a joint initiative of the Danish and Norwegian Demographic Societies. This seminar series aims to be a regular platform for knowledge exchange and discussion within our demographic community.

Outline

We’ll be holding our hour-long meetings on the second Monday of every month at 11:00 CET, with the summer pause in June and July. The seminars will be hosted online, with the possibility of attending a hybrid offline location in either Copenhagen or Oslo. On even numbered months the meetings are organized by DDF, on odd months — NDF.

Planned Meetings

The first confirmed speakers for the series are:

• 2025-10-20: Lars Thygessen, the founder of Danish population register based statistical system
• 2025-11-10: Martin Flatø, researcher at Norwegian Institute of Public Health
• 2025-12-08: Yoann Doignon, Senior Researcher at CNRS, France
