Event Overview

The 23rd Nordic Demographic Symposium will be held on June 10–12, 2025, at Hindsgavl Castle in Middelfart, Denmark. This cosy event brings together leading population scholars, both within and outside academia, from across the Nordic countries to present cutting-edge demographic research and discuss recent trends in population development and policy. The symposium aims to enhance the integration of research and data into policy, support young researchers, and strengthen the demographic field across the Nordic countries.

Registration

Registration for the conference is now open. To register for the conference, update your affiliation and abstract, and add co-authors, please visit our registration page.

Early-bird registration with a reduced fee is available until April 1, 2025. After this date, registration will still be possible at the full fee.

  • Early bird (before April 1): DKK 2.500 (€335)
  • Late registration (April 1 or later): DKK 3.500 (€470)
  • Registration without presentation: DKK 3.500 (€470)

The participation fee includes lunch for all three days of the conference and three-course dinners on both evenings.

IMPORTANT: ⁠Conference fee is VAT exempt as per Danish legislation. Please note that in order to benefit from this special regulation we have to process the payments directly via our DDF bank account. Since we have to manually compose every payment confirmation document, this takes a while, please allow up to a week-long waiting time before an email with confirmation arrives.

Accommodation

Rooms at Hindsgavl Castle are available at DKK 1.395 (€190) per night for single occupancy, including breakfast. Accommodations must be booked separately

  • Presentations are expected to be 15 minutes long with additional 5 minutes for discussion.
  • Posters are recommended in A0 format either landscape or portrait.
